The Silver Beaver Award was introduced in 1931 and is the highest honor a Council can bestow upon a volunteer. Recipients of this award are registered Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through volunteer service.
- Who can receive it: Registered Scouters who have provided exceptional service to the Council.
- How to receive it: Nominated by a Scouting peer and approved by the National Court of Honor.
- What it recognizes: Unselfish, effective service to the community, usually through Scouting.
- What it includes: A medal, certificate, pocket card, and lapel pin
