Scoutreach Vision Statement

To provide the necessary resources to ensure ALL young people and families can participate in Scouting regardless of circumstance or socioeconomic barriers.

Scoutreach Program

Today, the Greater LA Scoutreach program focuses on creating partnerships and collaborations to enable more families to have a Scouting Experience. Working with organizations like the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department, LA City Housing Authority, Los Angeles Police Department CSP, Environmental Charter Middle School (Inglewood), El Monte City School District, Homeboy Industries and Hollenbeck Youth Center we have found ways to deliver Scouting program to host of diverse families.

While camping, swimming, hiking, and leadership remain a constant, Scouting also brings subjects like STEM, environmental studies, physical education, financial education, community service, and fun to communities facing various socioeconomic barriers.

We have over 130 Merit Badge Subjects (Archery, Athletics, Camping Cooking, Citizenship, First Aid, Personal Management, Computer/Video Game Design, Firemanship, Pets, Zoology), High Adventure Programs and camping opportunities across the Los Angeles Basin for you to enjoy.

We also have relationships with organizations like the AEG, Los Angeles Kings, USC, LMU and UCLA Athletics to help expose kids to sports but educational and event experiences. We also have opportunities for career education through our relationships with Bank of Hope, Enterprise Business Bank and Silicon Valley Bank.

Our programs are co-ed ranging from in kindergarten through the 12th grade. In 2021 we provided over 300 youth with a summer camp experience, had over eight youth attained the rank of Eagle Scout and completed over 10,000 hours of community service.
