Journey to Excellence is the Boy Scouts of America’s program, aiding Packs, Troops, Crews, Ships, and Posts in planning, monitoring, and evaluating their youth service performance.

The program employs specific criteria across four key areas: planning and budgeting, membership, program, and volunteer leadership.  Leaders review these measurements annually, adjusting plans for maximum effectiveness. Objectives carry point values, enabling a balanced scorecard approach for an excellent overall program.

Three achievement levels—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—reflect program effectiveness, excellence, and exceptional achievement. Attaining Gold, the highest level, is challenging and signifies exceptional performance
