Scoutreach Program

The Greater LA Scoutreach program is dedicated to forging partnerships and collaborations that extend the Scouting Experience to more families. Through strategic alliances with organizations such as the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department, LA City Housing Authority, Los Angeles Police Department CSP, Environmental Charter Middle School (Inglewood), El Monte City School District, Homeboy Industries, and Hollenbeck Youth Center, we’ve developed innovative ways to bring the Scouting program to diverse families.

While traditional Scouting activities like camping, swimming, hiking, and leadership development remain integral, our program expands its reach to address a spectrum of subjects. From STEM and environmental studies to physical education, financial literacy, and community service, Scouting enriches communities contending with various socioeconomic barriers.

With a diverse array of over 130 Merit Badge Subjects, including Archery, Athletics, Camping Cooking, Citizenship, First Aid, Personal Management, Computer/Video Game Design, Firemanship, Pets, and Zoology, as well as High Adventure Programs and camping opportunities throughout the Los Angeles Basin, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

In collaboration with esteemed organizations such as AEG, Los Angeles Kings, USC, LMU, and UCLA Athletics, we offer not only sports exposure but also educational and event experiences. Career education opportunities are also available through our partnerships with Bank of Hope, Enterprise Business Bank, and Silicon Valley Bank.

Our co-ed programs cater to students from kindergarten through the 12th grade. In 2021 alone, we provided a summer camp experience to over 300 youth, witnessed the achievement of over eight youths attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, and recorded an impressive total of over 10,000 hours of community service.
