Greater Los Angeles Scouting
Scouting is for family, fun, friends, and a lifetime of adventure! It’s the place where young people can grow to become their very best future selves. Our Scouting programs are designed to give kids and young adults the skills they need to unlock their full potential and live life outside! To find what program will be best for your youth please explore the below.
Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts is a year-round program where boys and girls are introduced to the basic tenets of Scouting. As a Cub Scout, you’ll earn awards and patches for everything from pitching a tent to paddling a canoe to operating a computer to building and racing wood cars.
You’ll camp, hike, make friends, and learn knots. You’ll go on field trips to police and fire stations, volunteer at local food banks, and learn about the importance of community service. Along the way, you’ll build confidence, discipline, leadership skills, and great friendships.
Cub Scout Packs are located all throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area, with some communities having several options. These packs are made up of dens that participate in events such as banquets, fairs, campouts, and, of course, Pinewood Derby races. Parents, friends, and leaders play active roles in the program as they encourage boys and girls to live the Cub Scout motto: “Do Your Best.” It truly is a family affair.
We invite any young girl or boy between the ages of 5 and 10 who is interested in having fun while learning valuable skills for the outdoors, school, sports, and life to attend a local den meeting.

Scouts BSA

Scouting is an adventure that prepares young people for life, developing character, citizenship, and essential outdoor skills. Plus, as a Scout, you’ll likely catch more fish, build more campfires, climb more mountains, and hike more trails than most youth your age.
As a Scout, you’ll work your way through the Scout Handbook, attend meetings with your friends, and go on memorable adventures—like beach camping, multiday backpacking trips, and high-adventure challenges. You’ll also experience the importance and personal satisfaction of serving your community, whether it’s through volunteering at local food banks or helping maintain trails in our nearby mountains.
This program is open to boys and girls ages 11 to 17 who are ready to explore the outdoors, build leadership skills, and push their limits in a supportive, values-based environment.
Greater LA Scouting offers a wide variety of Scout troops across the region. These troops host exciting activities such as campouts, outdoor treks, and service projects throughout the year. Parents, friends, and leaders play active roles in the program as they help youth gain confidence and achieve their goals—one badge, one adventure at a time.
